Using amorphour silicon solar cells to harness sunlight the unit also has LED indicators to show charge status. The in built battery compartment, which accepts 5 AAA NiMH or Lithium Ion batteries (not included), will operate as a battery charger for the installed batteries, taking 6-8 hours to fully charge*. These batteries will then operate as an emergency power source your mobile phone, charging the mobile phone in 30-40 minutes. The solar charger will also charge other electrical devices, up to 6V, such as MP3 Players, mini disc players, digital cameras, GPS or PDA's. Several units can also be connected together to increase your available output power for larger devices.
