I wanted a drop in replacement for the power supplies that are now 30 years old in retro computers like the Amiga 500, 600 and 1200 and these do the job nicely providing all the voltages and amperages I need for these machines. They also have a lot higher wattage so allow for modern users who want to plug in lots of modern power hungry expansion cards to these old machines without flaking out.

I feel a lot happier with these power supplies as I know they won't over supply these old retro machines and damage their motherboards. The ones from the time often have bad capacitors that have aged badly and mean they can supply too much voltage and damage the machine.
